Through a modification of MTL’s silver coating technology pigment coated silver particles have been developed. These materials have the potential to offer a low density, visible and infra red reflective camouflage pigment. The high IR reflectivity (or emissivity) of silver surfaces enables vehicles or individuals coated with these to essentially evade detection by heat sensitive cameras.

Combined with visible pigment systems in a single composite particle, these materials offer multifunctional camouflage options.
